Labour/Applied Micro Brown Bag Fall 2018:
September 7-8, 2018
Villa Sjötorp, Ljungskile, Sweden
External Speakers: Giovanni Mastrobuoni (Collegio Carlo Alberti/University of Essex) and Peter Fredriksson (Uppsala University)
From Friday, 7th September 2018, to Saturday, 8th September 2018, our research group organised a workshop on labour economics and the economics of crime and victimisation. The workshop took place at Villa Sjötorp, north of Gothenburg, and included nine senior and junior faculty members, six PhD students and two external speakers. The ‘internal’ presentations covered a range of topics at different stages of the research process and representing current research undertaken within the group (criminal victimisation, crime, racial disparities, unemployment, wages, labour supply, education, health interventions). The external speakers each gave a presentation on current research highly related to the research interests within the group (crime reporting of immigrants and victimisation, advance layoff notices and worker/firm behaviour).
The organisers (Anna Bindler and Nadine Ketel) are grateful for generous funding from Handelsbanken which allowed them to organise this year’s workshop.
